Happy New Knitting Year

The next meeting of Spennyknit will be on Monday 8th January.

Kids will not be back at school, so be warned!!!

At this meeting we hope to knit blue squares for the Water Aid Knit a River campaign.

I will have blue yarn and needles available.

And then there were five!

The second meeting of Spennyknit took place on Monday 2nd October. We gained two new members: Becky, from In Stitches and Olwyn. We discussed ideas for the Teddy Bears' picnic and had a look at the Drops booklets I was sent.

Carrie Anne has updated the Knit n Natter blog with lots of picture of donated knits. The display is going to be amazing when all the teddies, blankets and food are all together.

Please come along to The Four Clocks Centre, Bishop Auckland on Friday 20th October between 10am and 2pm. We will be selling the knitted items as well as refreshments ( homemade cakes - yummy!). Experts from the knitting groups will be on hand to give lessons and advice. We will be selling knitting starter kits.

The Spennymoor Settlement are having a Table Top Sale on Saturday 21st October. Kathleen and I are both having a craft stall.

Despite there being only three of us we had a good knit n natter! I made some lovely cakes!

If you are able to, please come to the next meeting on Monday 2nd October. We will be knitting like mad to get everything completed for the Teddies Bears' picnic displays during National knitting week.

First Meeting

The first meeting of Spennyknit will take place on Monday 4th September 2006 from 10am-12pm. Knitters and Crocheters of all abilities are welcome. Come along for a cuppa and a chat and don't forget to bring your latest project!

National Knitting Week 2006

It takes place from 14-21 October 2006. Go to National Knitting Week website for more details.
We have some exciting things planned between our four groups. Our theme is Teddy Bears' Picnic. Members of the groups are busy knitting teddies and picnic food, as well as blanket squares. We plan to have a display of our work at Bishop Auckland KnN on Friday October 20th. The items will then be sold to raise funds for Butterwick Hospice.
